Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov: the quota for the employment of disabled people in Ingushetia has been fulfilled by more than 120%

The quota for the employment of persons with disabilities in Ingushetia was fulfilled by 120%. As the head of the region, Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov, said, he is always ready to support representatives of this category and provide them with the necessary assistance.

In Ingushetia, more than 120% was completed the quota for the employment of disabled people, which is set in the subject in the amount of 1274 people. As of January 17, 2023, 1,569 unemployed people with disabilities received jobs.

As indicated by the Republican Ministry of Labor, last year the employment service received appeals from 210 applicants with disabilities who retain their ability to work. Of these, 13 people got a job – they were arranged for vacancies.

As the head of the region Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov noted, people with physical disabilities often have a strong spirit and strong character, and any healthy person can learn from them.

“They want and can live a full life, and our task is to give them such an opportunity. If they want to work, we must give them work according to their ability. Many of them bring much more benefit to society, the state than some healthy people, participating in labor, social, sports life,” Kalimatov emphasized, speaking about the achievements of the republic in the issue of employment of disabled people.

In addition, Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov noted that he is always ready to provide assistance and support to representatives of this category.

As of the beginning of 2023, seven people with disabilities who were looking for work turned to the employment services of the region. In total, 345 people with disabilities are currently registered as job seekers.

Since 2010, there has been a law in Ingushetia, adopted by the local parliament, which provides for job quotas for persons with disabilities. In subsequent years, some changes were made to it, establishing the number of jobs for the employment of representatives of the corresponding category. Thus, according to this law, regional employers with more than 35 employees must allocate 2% of the average number of employees, and more than 100 employees – 4%. Employers should equip workplaces and create the necessary conditions for workers with disabilities. At the same time, employers who exceed the quota for employment of disabled people can count on various kinds of benefits from the authorities of the region and municipalities.

The level of general unemployment in Ingushetia is quite high (27.7%), but, nevertheless, disabled people, as the least socially protected category of citizens, are provided with jobs.

In January 2023, the number of vacancies that were announced by employers decreased from 69 units recorded as of January 2022 to 65 units. Thus, the coefficient of tension in the labor market is currently 420 people per vacant job.
