Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov: it is profitable for entrepreneurs in Ingushetia to work openly, and not to look for ways to evade taxes

In Ingushetia, the number of small and medium-sized businesses and, accordingly, the number of their employees has increased. The authorities of the region believe that this was facilitated by the measures taken in Ingushetia to support entrepreneurs. The head of the republic, Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov, noted that one of them is to reduce the tax rate on the simplified tax system.

The head of the Ministry of Economic Development of Ingushetia, Eset Tumgoeva, met with the head of the republic, Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov and introduced him figures for the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the subject. She clarified that compared to January 2022, according to the data for the first month of 2023, there were 11.8% more SMEs in Ingushetia – 5465 against 4888 a year earlier. The number of employees of SMEs also increased – their share increased by 22%: in January last year, there were 6,264 such employees, and now – 7,644. Tumgoeva explained the positive dynamics by systematic work in the direction of supporting SMEs and a set of measures taken in the republic.

Among the steps taken by the regional authorities to support SMEs, the minister mentioned the work within the framework of the national project “Small and Medium Enterprises and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiatives”, as well as the activities of the “My Business” center. The latter is a platform for SMEs, individual entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs, where they can get advice and services in the “one window” mode. During the reporting period, more than 3.1 thousand representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, citizens who are going to start their own business, as well as the self-employed received assistance.

There is also an Export Support Center in Ingushetia. His profile is to support foreign-oriented business. The organization provides its representatives with information-analytical, consulting and organizational support.

The business community also receives assistance from the Entrepreneurship Support Fund of Ingushetia, where you can apply for microloans. The organization issued 12 loans for 28 million rubles – to two self-employed and ten SMEs, as well as three guarantees for 24.2 million rubles. Also, SMEs can count on grants as part of a competitive selection.

In September last year, the head of Ingushetia, Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov, lowered the rate for regional taxpayers using the simplified taxation system (STS) by signing the relevant law. As a result, the rate decreased from 6% to 2%. Thus, as Kalimatov stated, doing business “in the open” has become more profitable than trying to find ways to avoid taxation. He also drew attention to the fact that this tax benefit is introduced in the republic on a permanent basis, and no one is going to cancel it in a year or two.

The reduced tax rate under the simplified tax system applies to income that will be received in 2023 and beyond. Thus, the amount of tax deductions for business will be reduced three times.
