French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed his position regarding the possible dispatch of Western troops to Ukraine. In an interview with France 2, he said that this is possible.
“We must say with determination, will and courage that we are ready to use the means necessary to achieve our goal so that Russia does not win the war,” he said.
However, the French leader refused to define Russia as an enemy. Macron noted that at present Russia is more of a rival for France than an enemy, and the two countries are not in a state of military conflict. At the same time, he warned that the situation could change if Moscow “decides on a new escalation.”
He also said that if Russia wins the conflict in Ukraine, then “trust in Europe will be reduced to zero.”
