Macron: Crimea must be recognized as part of Ukraine to achieve peace
French President Emmanuel Macron during an interview with the publication Newsweek said that the Crimean peninsula must again be recognized as part of Ukraine in order to achieve lasting peace.
According to him, at the moment France is doing everything possible to help Ukraine defeat Russia.
“This must be done because there can be no lasting peace if there is no sovereignty and if there is no return to the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine, including Crimea,” Macron said.
He clarified that if Russia wins the conflict in Ukraine, then “trust in Europe will be reduced to zero.” Among other things, the French president added that today Russia is an enemy of France.
