On the first day of the presidential elections, the heads of the regions of Siberia and the Far East came to vote at the polling stations. The heads of the Altai and Kamchatka territories, Buryatia, the Jewish Autonomous Okrug, Transbaikalia, Omsk, Kemerovo, Amur, Sakhalin and Tyumen regions have already voted.

Governors shared the atmosphere at election sites: Head of Buryatia Alexey Tsydenov reportedthat opera singers will perform at one of the polling stations in the region. In Krasnoyarsk during the elections work observers from Cameroon, Mozambique, Nepal, Benin, Indonesia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Maldives and the USA. The regional governor, Mikhail Kotyukov, met with them and told them about Maslenitsa. The regions of the Urals are already starting to vote. The governor of the Chelyabinsk region, Alexey Teksler, came to the polls.

This year’s elections will be held for the first time using remote electronic voting (DEV). For the first time they will run for three days: from March 15 to 17. In the DEG system already voted more than 500 thousand voters.
