French President Emmanuel Macron held telephone conversations with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and called on him to ensure free movement between Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia along the Lachin corridor.
According to the Elysee Palace, Macron also expressed strong concern about the resumption of tension in the South Caucasus.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Azerbaijan had blocked the Stepanakert-Goris road. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made claims to Russian peacekeepers because of this.
In Baku, this was explained by the fact that there, allegedly, civil activists and environmentalists are protesting against the “illegal activities of the Armenian side.”
