The upper stage with the Russian station “Luna-25” has successfully entered the near-Earth orbit, and now the device is starting its flight to the Moon.
According to Roscosmos, after the successful launch of the Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket from the cosmodrome, the Fregat Vostochny upper stage with the lunar station successfully separated from the third stage of the rocket and entered low-Earth orbit.
Then Luna 25 was put on a flight path to the Moon.
Recall that the predecessor of the modern station, Luna-24, was launched in the Moon by the Soviet Union in 1976. It was equipped with a return vehicle that brought back samples of lunar soil to Earth.
