Lula da Silva took the oath and became President of Brazil for the third time. The inauguration ceremony was held in the country’s congress.
Silva won the second round of the presidential election, beating his opponent, former President Jair Bolsonaro, by a narrow margin.
At the inauguration ceremony, Russia was represented by Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko. During the bilateral meeting, the parties discussed relations between the two states.
Matviyenko also noted that she would report to Vladimir Putin on the results of the meeting with the President of Brazil.
