Lukashenko urged Ukraine to negotiate peace with Russia without preconditions

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko called on Ukraine to conclude a peace treaty with Russia without preconditions. According to him, if another conflict starts in the world, then everyone will forget about Ukraine.

“God forbid, for example, the Americans will get too much into Taiwan and clash with the Chinese, about Ukraine, about other countries, everyone will forget. Everything will be drawn to this conflict between the two leading global powers. I do not want it. Then it will be very bad for the planet. Ukraine must understand this too. Therefore, there is no other way than to conclude a peace treaty now, without preconditions. All this should be discussed at the table. We need to negotiate with the Ukrainian military,” Lukashenka said in an interview with Chinese media, a fragment of which published TV channel “Belarus 1”.

In addition, Lukashenko called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to start acting in the interests of his own people, not the West, and to prevent further death of the country by making peace with Moscow.

On Thursday, February 23, the Belarusian President gave an interview to the Chinese media – the Xinhua News Agency and the China Media Corporation. Answering a question about the role of China in solving international problems, Lukashenka noted that not a single problem in the world can be solved today without the participation of China. He stressed that China has become a global country with its own global policy.

January 19 Lukashenka declaredthat the attempts made by the West to strangle Russia and Belarus ended in failure. In addition to economic pressure, Western countries are also trying to use Ukraine against Belarus, but Kyiv, Lukashenka claims, “holds on” and does not go to provocations against Minsk.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. Russian President Vladimir Putin called it the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, as its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
