Lukashenko: Poland did not appreciate the efforts of Belarus

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that for the sake of friendly relations with Poland, Belarus overcame historical grievances, but Warsaw did not appreciate this, mistaking it for weakness.
“Can you forget how they fired cannons at Belarusian villages, beat Belarusian children with rods in other people’s schools, and mocked Belarusians, Russians and Ukrainians in the Polish concentration camp in Bereza-Kartuzskaya,” Lukashenko said.
Belarus made an attempt to “step over” this for the sake of friendship between peoples, but “the lesson has been learned,” the president said, saying that he was talking about Polish politicians, and not the people as a whole
