Lukashenko explained the deployment of Russian tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on Friday, June 30, spoke at a solemn meeting dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic. Addressing the audience, the politician called “the intolerance of Western politicians towards our values, their views on our material and human resources” as challenges to the Belarusian independence and statehood.

According to Lukashenka, the country is in the conditions of a military-political crisis on a global scale, unprecedented in the history of mankind, and the West does not need a dialogue to resolve it. The President of Belarus said that “there is only one intrigue in this whole story: do Western politicians realize that they are putting Europe’s head on the nuclear guillotine with their own hands.”

However, as the head of state stressed, the current generation of Belarusians is able to protect the country. He called it his “cruelest initiative” the deployment of a part of Russian tactical nuclear weapons (TNW) on the territory of Belarus, since “it should lie with us, in Belarus, in a safe place.”

Lukashenka expressed confidence that it would not be necessary to use these weapons “and the enemy will never set foot on our land,” reports BelTA.

In Belarus, meanwhile, work continues on the infrastructure for deploying Russian tactical nuclear weapons, the Ministry of Defense and the KGB of the republic were instructed to develop an algorithm for its use if necessary.

In the United States on June 27, it was claimed that can’t verify information on the transfer of part of the Russian tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus, since no changes in the location of Russian nuclear forces were recorded. The State Department also stressed that “as a nuclear power, Russia has a special responsibility” to ensure that there are no threats to strategic stability.
