Lukashenko announced a meeting with Putin planned for October 15

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that on October 15 he is scheduled to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Kyrgyzstan.

“We are meeting in Kyrgyzstan on October 15,” he said during a meeting with the Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko in Minsk (quote according to TASS).

Lukashenko also toldthat on September 25 he had a telephone conversation with Putin, during which two joint projects were discussed on the joint production and maintenance of aircraft, as well as on the construction of a second railway line to the Leningrad region.

For the last time, the leaders of Russia and Belarus met September 15 in Sochi, discussing the situation in Ukraine and relations between the Russian Federation and the DPRK. In particular, Putin spoke about the 300,000 military personnel who had signed a contract and commented on the prospects for negotiations with Ukraine.

The previous meeting of the presidents took place on July 23 in Strelna. They discussed the Wagner PMC, the external threat “along the perimeter” of the countries and the development of the Union State. The presidents also visited Kronstadt, where they toured the Museum of Naval Glory and talked with people on the square near the St. Nicholas Naval Cathedral, and then went to the island of Valaam. During their visit to the island, the leaders of both countries inspected the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Valaam stauropegic monastery.

At the end of August, the leaders held telephone conversations. As the Russian leader’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov noted, Putin and Lukashenko communicate regularly and “regularly compare notes.”
