Colonel Matviychuk called Russian tanks superior to Abrams

Russian tanks T-90 “Proryv” and T-14 “Armata” are superior in their characteristics to the American Abrams transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, told “Lente.ru” military expert, retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk.
These tanks were widely used by the Americans in the Iraqi company, he recalled. The Iraqis, according to him, knocked them out “even with Chinese-made RPG-2.” The tank is unremarkable, but “burns great.” “This is a tank with a 120mm smoothbore gun, rolled armor, simple electronics and no active protection,” he listed the characteristics of the Abrams M1A1.
Abrams was prepared as an expeditionary one, Matviychuk pointed out, and therefore is not suitable for performing tank functions in Ukraine.
“It has an analogue – our unmodernized T-72 tank,” the expert noted. “The T-90 Proryv is superior in both mobility and firepower.” And the T-14 Armata tank “looms over him like a rock.”
