On August 9, a conversation took place between President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and Russian leader Vladimir Putin. This was announced by Lukashenka during his visit to the Minsk National Airport and the Minsk Civil Aviation Plant No. 407.

The permanent members of the BRICS are Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The next summit of the association will be held from 22 to 24 August in the capital of South Africa, Johannesburg. In August 2024, the Russian-chaired summit will be held in Kazan, preceded by the BRICS Games.
