President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko visited the 230th combined-arms training ground Obuz-Lesnovsky in the Brest region, where the Russian part of the joint group of troops is located, transmits BelTA agency.
“At the training ground, the president heard a report on the completion of the combat coordination of its units and formations. The head of state at the training ground also got acquainted with the location of military units and subdivisions of the Russian Armed Forces, talked with soldiers and officers,” the agency said in a statement.
Lukashenka, in particular, was informed that motorized rifle and tank units, special troops, including air defense units, conducted joint exercises.
Lukashenka previously instructed to place a small part of the Russian military on the territory of the republic. On October 31, the Belarusian leader signed a decree on the establishment of joint combat training centers with Russia for the military of the two countries.
On the eve it became known that the Russian and Belarusian military are planning to conduct tactical flight exercises of units that are part of the aviation component of the regional grouping of troops and forces (RGV). The Belarusian Ministry of Defense noted that a military formation of the aerospace forces will take part in the exercises from Russia.
