President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko approved amendments to the decree “On the stay of citizens of Ukraine in the Republic of Belarus”, according to which Ukrainians arriving in the country are given equal rights with local citizens in terms of education, medical care and payments.
The document says that citizens of Ukraine receive equal rights with Belarusians to receive education – from preschool to higher education. They will also be able to receive “affordable medical care” and qualify for “appointment of child benefits and pensions”, informs BelTA.
The decree also exempts Ukrainians from paying state fees for registration in Belarus, when applying for permanent residence or obtaining a residence permit. Local employers are exempted from duties on hiring foreigners in case of hiring citizens of Ukraine.
It is noted that the innovations should “promote the integration of Ukrainian citizens into the Belarusian society” and will allow “to regulate the issues of their social support.”
