Lucky Dozen – Style

Kommersant Style chose the most interesting watches from 12 brands out of 39 that presented their new products in August in Geneva.
Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Carbongold Perpetual Calendar
Among the watches brought to GWD by Bvlgari are a pair of record-breaking Octo Finissimo models in an anthracite carbon fiber case with rose gold trim.
Konstantin Chaikin “Kolobok”
The watchmaker, having abandoned the Jokers, Dracula and Minions, switched to the heroes of Russian folk tales. Limited to 99 pieces, the Kolobok ristmon in a steel case keeps track of the hours and minutes, the days of the week and the phases of the moon.
De Bethune DB28XP Kind of Blue
The deep blue color of the dial of the ultra-thin model, released in 25 pieces, is achieved by natural oxidation of titanium.
Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute 8Tech
The signature Laureato octagonal case is this time made of carbon fiber with gray titanium additives, creating a pattern on the surface reminiscent of Damascus steel.
Greubel Forsey Double Balancier Convexe
The brand’s first watch with a carbon case reduced to 42.5 mm in diameter (two series of 22 pieces each). The main lure of the mechanism is two balance wheels inclined at an angle of 30° and connected by a differential.
Jacob & Co The World Is Yours Dual Time Zone
The model with two time zones is dedicated to three generations of the Arabo family: the father of the founder, Jacob himself and his son – hence the motto The World Is Yours. A relief map of the earth’s hemisphere surrounds two dials with Roman and Arabic numerals. The time on them can be set independently with a difference not only of a full hour, but also of half and even a quarter of an hour, as in some zones.
Maurice Lacroix Aikon Skeleton Urban Tribe
The skeletonized dial echoes the laser engraved geometric patterns on the case and bracelet. Series of 500 copies.
MB&F Horological Machine #9 Sapphire Vision
The model, developed together with watch designer Eric Giroud, resembles a fantastic deep-sea submersible. The intricate sapphire glass capsule reveals what MB&F founder Maximilian Büsser calls “the most beautiful in-house movement ever created.” Six series of five copies.
H. Moser & Cie. Endeavor Center Seconds Vantablack
The beauty and complexity of the dials with the seeming simplicity of the case is one of the lures of Endeavor. The dial of this model is made of Vantablack material, which almost completely absorbs light. In order not to disturb the minimalist image, when changing the angle of view, the hour markers can be hidden from view.
“Rocket Ekranoplan”
A sports steel watch on a steel bracelet, produced in 500 pieces, is dedicated to the Soviet airship — the ekranoplan Lun (the insert of the bidirectional bezel is made of its metal).
Urwerk UR-100V Stardust
Like the entire 100 collection, in addition to satellite time indicators, the watch has a scale of distances that the Earth travels, rotating around its axis in 20 minutes, as well as the Earth around the Sun in the same third of an hour. To feel these cosmic values to the touch, the new version came out with a case encrusted with “star dust” of 400 diamonds. Production is limited to ten pieces per year.
Ulysse Nardin Blast Free Wheel Marquetry
The Ulysse Anchor escapement tourbillon movement seems to be turned inside out and its secrets are exposed. The dial is finished with marquetry made of silicon plates, reminiscent of the manufactory’s great contribution to the development of silicon technologies for the needs of the watch industry.
