“Lokomotiv-Kuban” lost with a crushing score to “Zenith”

Today, February 11, the basketball club “Lokomotiv – Kuban” met with “Zenith” from St. Petersburg on the road as part of the regular championship of the United League. The game ended for the Kuban team with a crushing score – 106:67.
The Blue and Whites were the first to open the scoring in the match. The Kuban team resisted as best they could both in the first quarter and in the second, but the St. Petersburg team still retained their advantage until the big break. In the second half of the match, Loko players’ accuracy completely disappeared. And when the referee sent American forward Okaro White off the field, the “red-greens” could only hold the line, no longer trying to get ahead.
As a result, Lokomotiv-Kuban lost by 39 points. The club called this defeat one of the most devastating in history.
Lokomotiv head coach Alexander Sekulic said after the match that his team could not find its offensive game. It became especially difficult after Okaro White was sent off. “We created good shooting opportunities. But each new mistake unsettled us more and more, and our productivity continued to fall,” explained the mentor.
“Lokomotiv-Kuban” is going on a long break in February. The team will play its next match in the United League on March 2 in Kazan against local UNICS. And on March 10 in Krasnodar, the “red-greens” will meet with CSKA.
