Lokomotiv’s away match ended in defeat with a minimal margin. But both the fans and the club management unanimously complained about the refereeing.
At the moment, the Yaroslavl hockey club has filed an appeal with the KHL against several particularly egregious refereeing decisions in the match against SKA on October 24, 2022. The KHL recognized the claims as valid and substantiated.
The KHL noted that the judges did not punish SKA player Dmitry Yashkin for hitting Volkov in the face (the player bled), playing with a high stick and tripping.
Yashkin, according to many, should have been removed from the field for violations. But he stayed and scored the winning goal.
In response, SKA coach Yudin criticized the statements of Lokomotiv head coach Igor Nikitin about refereeing and Yashkin’s game. It is possible that a counterclaim will be filed.
