Lokomotiv hit the brakes again – Sport – Kommersant

Three matches took place at the start of the 14th round of the Russian Football Championship, including the Moscow derby Lokomotiv-Dynamo. With a score of 3:1, the blue and white won, again sending the railroad workers to 14th place. In the meantime, Rostov took the second position, although they only played a draw with Fakel – 1:1. With 26 points, he is ahead of Spartak in additional indicators, but the Muscovites have yet to play the match of the 14th round.
With all the integrity inherent in the big Moscow derby, and the confrontation Lokomotiv and “Dynamo” was one of them, it could not affect the current position of the teams in the leading group. Dynamo, after a series of defeats, lagged behind her and were in eighth place with 20 points, while the railway workers are generally experiencing a protracted crisis and only in the last round they stopped their decline, gaining 12 points and rising from 14th to 13th line. Under the guidance of acting head coach Andrei Fedorov, Lokomotiv beat Torpedo 1:0, after which they surpassed Khimki in the Russian Cup with the same score, but the red-greens, of course, should not have been deceived by modest victories over outsiders. Especially since the blue and whites seem to have overcome the recent decline by winning the last two matches.
The benchmark for Dynamo was Krasnodar, which was in the fifth position, which in the 14th round dealt with Pari Nizhny Novgorod – 2:0. Curiously, these teams met for the second time in a week. Three days ago, Nizhny Novgorod won the Cup at home, and in the championship, the Kuban took revenge. Both goals from the guests were made by John Cordoba, who provided an assist and scored himself. And the hosts were marked by the fact that they received two red cards and finished the match with nine men. Thus, Krasnodar has 24 points.
However, the Dynamo team, who entered the field in the original black uniform, did not immediately join the game and in the very first minute they gave Lokomotiv a head start when Francois Camano blocked Dmitry Zhivoglyadov’s serve with his head.
True, the defender of the blue and white Roberto Fernandez immediately almost restored the starting status quo – the owners of the RZD Arena were rescued by goalkeeper Marinato Guilherme, who pulled the ball out of the bottom corner after a very dangerous corner kick. Based on such a frisky debut, it might have seemed that there would be many more sharp moments and goals, but the teams nevertheless put on the brakes and turned the match into a more viscous channel.
Guests still managed to aggravate the situation at the gates of others, almost only thanks to the standards, while their next corner did not lead to a penalty kick. At first, there was an impression that the referee reacted to the contact of the same Fernandez with Dmitry Barinov, but it turned out that a moment earlier, Anton Miranchuk touched the ball with his hand. Fedor Smolov hit the target from the 11-meter mark, and it was his 100th anniversary goal in the Premier League. Dynamo even managed to build on the success soon after Guilherme parried Denis Makarov’s shot, and Arsen Zakharyan arrived in time to finish off. But according to the judges, Smolov also took an active part in the episode, who found himself offside and interfered with the goalkeeper. So the second ball was not counted as white and blue.
However, in general, the team of Slavisa Jokanovic looked better and spent more time in the half of Lokomotiv.
In the second half, the game seemed to have evened out for some period, but again the Dynamo team had a scoring chance when Zakharyan got into milk from Smolov’s pass. And then they used the standard again, and Zakharyan hit Guilherme with the help of a rebound from the wall. Dynamo goalkeeper Anton Shunin also did not stand idle, but it was clearly more difficult for his colleague. With the blows of Mumi Ngamalyo and Vyacheslav Grulev, Guilherme coped with great difficulty.
The guests were by no means going to switch to the account hold mode and continued to attack. As a result, the railway workers fouled Konstantin Tyukavin, and Daniil Fomin scored from the penalty spot for the 17th time in a row, repeating the record of the Bulgarian Georgy Peev in the Russian championships.
Dynamo won 3:1 and with 23 points closes the top six, waiting for the response of its closest competitors – Sochi and Akhmat. Well, Lokomotiv again dropped to 14th place, showing that its problems have not gone away.
The match in Voronezh, where “Torch” hosted one of the leaders of the championship – “Rostov”. After all, Valery Karpin’s team aimed for second place, which was occupied by Spartak, which was only one point ahead of it. True, the Rostovites have shown a certain decline, and in five previous meetings, including the Cup, they suffered four defeats, but before that they had not lost to anyone in 12 matches in a row since the start of the season. At the same time, Fakel did not lose in the Premier League for five rounds, achieving a draw even with Zenit itself.
Voronezh looked competitive against the background of Rostov. In the first half, they missed a great opportunity to open the scoring when they earned a penalty.
Maxim Maksimov’s kick was saved by goalkeeper Sergei Pesyakov, and Irakli Kvekveskiri finished off the ball into the net in violation of the rules, as he ran into the penalty area ahead of time. Shortly before the break, another trouble happened to the hosts, and they remained in the minority after the removal of Oleg Dmitriev, who was presented with a direct red card.
“Torch” fought with ten men, but in the 50th minute, “Rostov” realized a numerical advantage. The captain of the guests Danil Glebov found a gap in the opponent’s defensive formations and single-handedly broke through to the goal, skillfully rolling the ball past goalkeeper Ilya Svinov. In the future, the yellow-blues were close to scoring more, but in the first place they were still interested in how not to miss some crazy goal. Nevertheless, the victory sailed out of the hands of Karpin’s wards.
In the end, the Voronezh team just staged a desperate assault and made the defender Evgeny Chernov make a mistake, who played with his hand in the penalty area. Georgiy Gongadze accurately took the second penalty of “Torch”.
A draw in the majority probably hardly pleased Rostov, even though it still allowed him to reach second place, pushing Spartak to third in additional indicators. But the red-and-whites are ahead of the home match with Khimki. In addition, Rostovites can overtake CSKA, which will face Orenburg.
