The Lithuanian Parliament banned Russians from buying property in the country due to national security risks, transmits Reuters.
The ban is introduced until 2024, it will not apply to Russians who have obtained a residence permit in Lithuania.
The ban on the purchase of housing for Russians earlier in March was approved by the parliamentary committee on national security and defense. According to its chairman Laurynas Kasciunas, Russians purchased 699 real estate objects in Lithuania in 2022. How pointed out then TASS, this committee also included in the draft law on sanctions an article stating that information about Lithuanian enterprises working with partners in Russia and Belarus should be public.

The tenth package also introduces a ban on the export to Russia of not yet banned heavy vehicles and their spare parts, semi-trailers and special vehicles (such as snowmobiles), power generators, binoculars, radars, compasses, construction products.
