Lithuania handed over guns made over 70 years ago to Ukraine

Lithuania has handed over dozens of Bofors L70 small-caliber anti-aircraft guns to Ukraine, said the head of defense of Kyiv, Alexander Pavlyuk.
This gun is Swedish made. The development of the Bofors L70 gun began at the end of World War II. The first samples of the gun were ready by 1947, the production of the gun began in 1951. In Ukraine, Bofors L70 guns are going to be used to protect critical infrastructure facilities and settlements from air attacks, including kamikaze drones. The 40mm weapon can hit aerial targets up to three kilometers away.
Earlier it was reported that Lithuania had begun the process of transferring 36 Bofors L70 anti-aircraft guns to Ukraine. According to the head of the Lithuanian Defense Ministry, the training of 15 instructors has already been completed, who will continue to work on the territory of Ukraine.
In turn, the Ukrainian Minister of Defense stressed that it was decided not to train anti-aircraft gun operators, but instructors who will continue to conduct training with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Lithuania announced its readiness to supply these air defense systems back in January. In addition, it was announced the transfer of ammunition and two Mi-8 helicopters to Kyiv for a total of 125 million euros.
