Anusauskas: sending training missions to Ukraine, not military ones, is being discussed
Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas commented on French President Emmanuel Macron’s statement that Western leaders are discussing the possibility of sending military personnel to Ukraine.
“We are talking about training missions, training components,” the website of the Lithuanian Radio and Television quotes the minister as saying.
“There is simply a search for forms of how to further help Ukraine,” Anusauskas added, noting that this would also be “a very clear signal to Russia.”
He confirmed that the Lithuanian military is already training Ukrainians, but noted that this is happening on the territory of Great Britain, Germany and Lithuania.
