Payment using biometrics, that is, using facial recognition, has become available at all turnstiles of ten metro station lobbies in the capital. This was announced by Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport Maxim Liksutov. Thanks to payment by biometrics, you can pay for trips without having bank cards, a phone or cash at hand.
Previously, this service only worked at the outer turnstiles of all metro stations and the MCC. Now it has spread to all turnstiles of the entrance halls of the Novoslobodskaya, Planernaya, Shchelkovskaya, VDNH, Prospekt Mira stations (Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya and Circle lines), Baumanskaya, Slavyansky Boulevard and Yugo-Zapadnaya ” You can connect to payment using biometrics in the Moscow Metro application.
“We will continue to introduce Russian innovative technologies in urban transport according to the task of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin,” notes Maxim Liksutov. According to him, fares can be paid using facial recognition at more than a thousand turnstiles of the metro, MCC, river transport and Aeroexpress. By the end of March, it is planned to begin testing this service on the MCD; there are plans to launch it in ground transport. Every weekday, more than 150 thousand trips are made using biometrics.
