Liksutov announced the launch of Moscow-2024 trains on the Zamoskvoretskaya line

One of the longest lines of the capital’s subway received the long-awaited new trains. And in about three years, the city authorities will completely update the rolling stock on the Moscow-2024 and Moscow-2026 models.
The Moscow-2024 trains have a number of qualitative differences from the Moscow-2020 model, the capital’s Department of Transport clarified. Firstly, the train received a new design and interior design, which was voted for by the townspeople. The trains also accommodate 17 more people, and the seat width has increased by 5%.
The updated seats are upholstered in more practical and durable material. USB chargers have been moved from the seats to the handrails for the convenience of all passengers.
“On March 11, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin launched the renewal of rolling stock on the Zamoskvoretskaya line and launched the first new train “Moscow-2024”. The journeys of metro passengers will become even more comfortable. For this event, we prepared the metro infrastructure in advance. We carried out the first part of the reconstruction of the Sokol depot, built a new Brateevo depot with a car repair plant, and are updating the line’s power supply,” said Deputy Mayor of Moscow and Head of the Department of Transport Maxim Liksutov.
It is also noted that in comparison with the “Numbered” trains running on the Zamoskvoretskaya line today, the new trains have become a real technological breakthrough. Sound insulation has been improved here, air conditioners with air disinfection function have been installed, 176 information screens have been installed, and the doors have become 32% wider.
