State Duma deputies from the LDPR party have prepared a bill to ban the work of collection agencies in Russia, reported RT with a link to the document. The initiative has not yet been submitted to parliament, it is not in the database of the State Duma.
According to RT, deputies propose to amend Art. 5 of the Law “On consumer credit (loan)”. The document also proposes to invalidate the federal law “On the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of individuals in the implementation of activities to return overdue debts and on amendments to the Federal law “On microfinance activities and microfinance organizations””.
According to the authors of the project, the ban on the work of collectors will free a large number of people who can do productive work. “We consider it necessary in the current conditions to prohibit the activities of organizations on the territory of the Russian Federation whose main activity is the return of overdue debts, as well as to prohibit the involvement of other persons by the creditor to interact with the debtor aimed at returning overdue debts,” the explanatory note says. .
Earlier, the deputy head of the LDPR faction, Yaroslav Nilov, told Kommersant that in the spring session, the priorities of the Liberal Democratic Party will be the indexation of pensions for working pensioners, a ban on collectors, an increase in the minimum wage and other initiatives.
