Freezing rain will hit the capital on Monday. Leading meteorologist at the Phobos weather center, Mikhail Leus, wrote about this on his Telegram channel. He noted that frosts in the central region of Russia are beginning to weaken. A warm atmospheric front is heading towards Moscow.

It will snow in the city by Sunday evening. During the day, the thermometers will not drop below -8 degrees. And there’s a chance of freezing rain Monday morning.

This phenomenon is associated with sudden warming. At an altitude of 1.5 thousand km the air will warm up to positive temperatures. In the lower layers it will be no lower than -3 degrees. The moisture in the air will be in a liquid state and will only freeze near the ground.
