In a second, more explicit recording aired on Thursday, Giambruno can be heard bragging about the affair and telling female co-workers that they could work for him if they took part in group sex: “Let’s have threesomes, even foursomes.”

And back in September, Giorgia Meloni defended Giambruno after he said women should “avoid getting drunk” if they want to avoid rape. The Italian prime minister’s partner made the remarks live on air following a series of high-profile rape cases.

“If you go dancing, you have every right to get drunk – there should be no misunderstandings and no problems – but if you manage not to get drunk and lose your mind, you can also avoid certain problems and an encounter with a predator,” said him during his program.
