Leopards follow lynxes to celebrate housewarming

Most recently, the Moscow Zoo shared good news – a family of lynxes has acquired an updated enclosure. But not only lynxes from the cat family can boast of restored housing. The queue for a comfortable living space has reached the leopard Mizer.
The press center of the Moscow Zoo spoke about the completion of the reconstruction of the leopard enclosure. Now Mizer’s habitat has become 6 times larger due to the consolidation of old territories, increasing the height and width of the area. The arrangement of the new enclosure allows the spotted animal to feel like in its natural habitat – bushes, trees, lawn and soil were planted everywhere. Now it will be convenient for the beast to jump long distances, run and spend time actively.
The leopard feels comfortable here, and this is not surprising – Mizer was born at the Center for the Reproduction of Rare Species of the Moscow Zoo and has lived here all his life. The Far Eastern leopard, the rarest subspecies of the leopard, is on the verge of extinction, and only a few dozen representatives remain on earth. However, in the Reproduction Center, where rare injured or left too early animals go, leopards and other endangered species support their population.
The Moscow Zoo continues the repair work of the Koshachiy Ryad complex in order to provide its wards with the best conditions.
