Leonid Pasechnik became the head of the Lugansk People’s Republic, TASS reports.
Reportedly, this became possible after deputies of the People’s Council (Parliament) of the LPR elected him to this position at their plenary meeting.
The report says that Pasechnik was elected head of the LPR unanimously. He officially took office.
Earlier, elections were held to the People’s Council of the Lugansk People’s Republic, which consists of 50 deputies. “United Russia” received 39 seats, gaining 74.63% of the votes. The LDPR will have five mandates (9.87% of the votes), the Communist Party of the Russian Federation – four (7.5%), and A Just Russia – two (5.56%).
