Leonid Gozman became involved in the case of fakes against the army – Kommersant

A criminal case was opened against politician Leonid Gozman (recognized as a foreign media agent in the Russian Federation) for fake news against the Russian armed forces (clause “e”, part 2, article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). This was reported TASS in law enforcement agencies.

The case was based on his posts on Facebook (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned) and Telegram. He allegedly published “distorted statements about the leadership of the Russian Federation and the Russian armed forces” during the military operation in Ukraine.

The materials published by Mr. Gozman were sent for a comprehensive psychological and linguistic study. According to its results, deliberate distortion of information about the progress of the military operation was proven, the police say.

Under this article, the politician faces from five to ten years in prison. In September, Tverskoy Court of Moscow appointed Leonid Gozman received 15 days of administrative arrest. The court found that the politician, in his post on LiveJournal in 2013, identified the USSR with Nazi Germany (Part 1 of Article 13.48 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). He himself did not admit guilt and stated that the case against him was ordered.
