Leica introduced the second generation of branded smartphone

Leica Camera, a company specializing in the production of cameras and lenses, introduced Leitz Phone 2 is a new generation of branded smartphone. The novelty will be available only in Japan. The cost of the device will be $1.5 thousand.
Technically, the new Leica repeats the previously presented smartphone Sharp Aquos R7. The new Leitz Phone 2 differs from the Sharp model with a redesigned body in Leica White (stylized as a limited edition Leica M8 camera), as well as a branded hard case and a camera lens cover, also made in the style of Leica cameras.
The smartphone is built on Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip with 5G support. 6.6-inch curved OLED display with WUXGA + resolution (2730×1260 pixels) with a refresh rate of up to 240 Hz. The front-facing 12.6 MP camera is built into the screen, and the main module includes a single 47.2 MP camera with a 1-inch image sensor. The cameras have built-in filters that allow you to stylize your shots as if they were from a Leica camera.
Leitz Phone 2 has 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal memory with support for microSD memory cards up to 1 TB. The device with a 5000 mAh battery is IP68 certified for dust and moisture resistance. The smartphone, equipped with an NFC module and a 3.5 mm jack, runs on the Android 12 operating system with a proprietary shell stylized as the menu of Leica cameras.
Recall that the first Leica smartphone was presented in the summer of 2021, the Leica Leitz Phone 1 model was created based on the Sharp Aquos R6 smartphone.
