Legends of sports and music will play with Chukotka hockey players

A hockey match (6+) as part of the international project “The Last Game” will take place in Chukotka this year. Legends of sports and music will hold a meeting with representatives of the region, reports Chukotka news agency.
The upcoming event was announced by the Governor of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug Vladislav Kuznetsov in his telegram channel. The head of the region said that the match will be held as part of the “Last Game” project, aimed at attracting the world community to the problem of climate change.
“For us, this project is an opportunity to tell the whole country about our unique region, show its exceptional beauty and increase its tourist attractiveness. The development of tourism and participation in federal programs is not only an increase in the recognition of Chukotka, but also an investment in our infrastructure, that is, an improvement in the quality of life in the district,” said the head of the region.
It is planned that the team of legends will include the initiator of the “Last Game” project and two-time Olympic champion Vyacheslav Fetisov. Another Olympic champion, forward Vitaly Prokhorov, will perform alongside the legendary defender. Also on the ice will be the Honored Artist of Russia, opera singer Ildar Abdrazakov and People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, saxophonist Igor Butman.
The star team will play hockey with representatives of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. One of the possible locations is an open-air skating rink on the ice of the Anadyr Estuary. Perhaps the best teams from municipalities will gather in the district capital. Such proposals came from residents of Chukotka. They will be reviewed by the relevant department in the future. The date of the show match has not yet been announced.
Let us remind you that Vyacheslav Fetisov visited the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug in July 2023. Together with Vladislav Kuznetsov, he opened the third regional track and field competition “Arctic Running”. At the same time, the head of the region and the Soviet sports star agreed to implement sports projects in Chukotka.
