“Leaders of Russia” was asked to play on imports ahead – Kommersant

On Wednesday, the organizers of the “Leaders of Russia” competition summed up the intermediate results of the bidding campaign. Aleksey Komissarov, head of the ANO “Russia is a Land of Opportunities”, said that many representatives of Eurasia decided to participate in the competition this year, and he especially noted the percentage of women among those who registered, which is growing every week. Acting high-ranking managers also took part in the event through videos. Thus, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko wished the “leaders” to focus on “import outstripping”, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak expressed confidence in their ardent desire to see Russia strong and prosperous, and Presidential Aide Maxim Oreshkin assured that a creative era had come for the Russian economy.

The event was held at TASS, and Alexei Komissarov, General Director of Russia — the Land of Opportunities, acted as the main speaker. Recall that the competition, launched in 2017, is supervised by the presidential administration and is positioned as a tool for selecting the best managers in Russia. Anyone between the ages of 18 and 55 can participate in the competition, with two years of managerial experience.

“Our task is not just to select 100 winners, but to motivate hundreds of thousands of managers across the country to self-development, to achieve new goals,” said Alexei Komissarov. At the moment (registration began on April 4 and will last until May 14), more than 100,000 people from 89 regions of Russia and 79 foreign countries wanted to take part in the competition. “Representatives of Eurasia, especially residents of the post-Soviet space, are showing high activity this season,” Mr. Komissarov boasted, adding that applications come from North America, Africa, South America, and even from European countries. Recall that the winners of the competition can obtain Russian citizenship under a simplified scheme. Most of the contestants (29%) are between the ages of 36 and 40, the least (11%) are those who are under thirty. Alexei Komissarov also noted that over the past few weeks, the percentage of women participating in the competition has grown – from 29% to 33% (of late, Russian politicians and managers have constantly shown concern about this issue).

Pavel Bezruchko, chairman of the Leaders of Russia expert council, one of the main evaluators of the competition, said that a new stage had appeared in it – “management decisions”. “The participant writes his managerial case, this is a real situation or a problem that the participant has solved in his life. And we bring this case to the attention of interested partners of the competition,” explained Mr. Bezruchko.

All Leaders of Russia participants must record presentation videos. This time, the organizers of the competition placed this burden on the shoulders of the project’s mentors. The latter shared their assessments of the priorities and capabilities of both the “leaders” and Russia as a whole, which, as it turned out, they all look only optimistically.

“Today, the main priority in the Russian IT sector has become the achievement of technological sovereignty, as Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly spoken about, as well as imports ahead,” Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said in his video. “Your ardent desire to see our country strong and prosperous, to make the lives of our citizens more prosperous, more comfortable, and happier is especially important,” another Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak supported the positive mood. “As a mentor, I personally meet with the contestants, involve the entire team of the Ministry of Economic Development in working with the leaders,” said Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development. “For the Russian economy, a very positive creative period has now begun, a little bit of such a creative era,” Maxim Oreshkin, an aide to the President of the Russian Federation, took the most optimistic note. “Today, the motto “Russia is a country of opportunities” has acquired a very real life content,” said State Duma Vice Speaker Irina Yarovaya.

And the general director of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, Aleksey Rakhmanov, even compared the “leaders of Russia” with nuclear-powered icebreakers, which should make way for other ships: “We lay in them (icebreakers.— “b”) special characteristics – greater reliability, autonomy, high strength of the hull, powerful reactor plant. The situation is similar with leaders: they have a special set of qualities, they lead the rest, no matter how hard it may be.

When asked by Kommersant whether the organizers of the Leaders of Russia plan to eventually organize a separate competition for participants in a special military operation, Alexei Komissarov answered evasively. According to him, many participants in previous years’ competitions volunteered for the front and show their “leadership competencies” there. “Last year and this year, a separate competition “Revival Leaders” was launched (for residents of new regions.— “b”), which was attended by a large number of those who took part in a special military operation. I am sure that there will also be many such participants in our big competition,” said Mr. Komissarov.
