Lawyers for journalist and deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Alexander Dubinsky, who was arrested in mid-November in a treason case, said that their client was beaten by unknown persons in a pre-trial detention center in Kyiv.
A message from the lawyers on the deputy’s Telegram channel states that the administration of the pre-trial detention center invited doctors to Dubinsky, who recorded multiple hematomas and a suspicion of a rib fracture.
Dubinsky demanded an immediate response from the Minister of Justice, the Prosecutor General and the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He also demands that the head of the Kyiv detention center come to him. Lawyers claim that there is a threat of physical elimination of the deputy.
Earlier, the SBU reported that they suspect Dubinsky of allegedly being a GRU agent since 2019 with the call sign “Buratino” and his tasks included “discrediting the country in the international arena” and “undermining the situation in Ukraine.” Dubinsky himself believes that he is being persecuted for criticizing Vladimir Zelensky and the head of his Office, Andrei Yermak.
