Honored Lawyer of Russia Ivan Solovyov in a conversation with the radio Sputnik reported that now telephone scammers have begun to act more sophisticated. In particular, they first ingratiate themselves with a person, and only after that they fraudulently try to take away money from him.
He clarified that the attackers, who operate according to the new scheme, make several consecutive calls to a potential victim. They do things like this to make people believe them.
“First, scammers make “sighting” calls, usually with a difference of several days. In a conversation, they try to find out more personal information about their victim, find out his psychotype. After that, the attackers throw the bait and prepare the victim to take money from her, ”said Solovyov.
According to him, fraudsters can call themselves employees of the Investigative Committee. They talk about some kind of investigation, and then they convince the person to share their payment information or take out a “mirror” loan.
