Lawyer Muradov spoke about the easing of preventive measures for businessmen

The President of Russia signed a law specifying the grounds for the arrest of entrepreneurs and other persons associated with commercial activities. The document establishes the priority of the court applying a different measure of restraint in relation to these persons, allowing them to continue their entrepreneurial activities, said lawyer Aram Muradov from the Minushkina and Partners Bar Association.
He explained that the detention of an entrepreneur is possible only in the presence of one of the following circumstances:
- the suspect or the accused does not have a place of residence or place of stay in the territory of Russia;
- he violated the previously chosen measure of restraint;
- he absconded from the authorities of the preliminary investigation or the court.
In all other cases, when choosing measures of restraint for businessmen, they will give preference to measures not related to detention (under house arrest, personal guarantee, bail, house arrest, prohibition of certain actions, and others), the expert added.
