After the completion of the SVO in Ukraine, the authorities should show mercy and humanity, fully or partially releasing from punishment people convicted of discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.
About it stated member of the Human Rights Council Eva Merkacheva. She noted that under this article there are fines, arrests and criminal cases. In particular, recently the journalist Maria Ponomareva received six years. Merkacheva would very much like all these people to fall under the amnesty.
“Well, in general, at the end of everything, it seems to me that the authorities should somehow show maximum mercy and humanity. I hope that the chances are great,” she said.
Two days ago Leninsky District Court of Barnaul sentenced journalist Maria Ponomarenko to six years in a penal colony for posting information on Telegram about an airstrike by the Russian Armed Forces on the drama theater of Mariupol. The Russian Defense Ministry denied this information.
