Law enforcement agencies supported the bill on deprivation of property for fakes about the RF Armed Forces

The Investigative Committee, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Justice and Rosfinmonitoring gave positive opinions on amendments to the legislation providing for confiscation of property as punishment for spreading false information about the Russian army.
This is stated in the explanatory note to the bill, published on Thursday, January 18.
Amendments to the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes of the Russian Federation allow for the seizure of property and valuables used to finance crimes, as well as any other activity directed against the security of Russia.
Along with this, provision is made for deprivation of military and special ranks, as well as state awards for fakes about the RF Armed Forces.
Earlier, the Kotelnikovsky District Court convicted a resident of the Volgograd region, who called for the creation of a republic within the borders of his district. According to the regional department of the FSB, a 40-year-old man was accused of distributing on social networks fakes about the Russian army. He received five years in prison for this.
According to Sledkom, over two years, investigators opened 273 criminal cases for disseminating false information about the Russian army. Criminal liability for this 45 citizens were involved.
