The American side did not request a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the sidelines of a meeting of the heads of foreign affairs agencies of the OSCE member countries in North Macedonia. Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov spoke about this on Monday, November 27.
According to the diplomat, Washington will not request such a meeting and, accordingly, it will not happen.
Meanwhile, Sergei Lavrov said that he could not be optimistic about the fate of associations dominated by the United States and its allies. He listed NATO, the EU, the G7, the Council of Europe and the OSCE as examples. According to the Russian minister, the OSCE “you can still try to savebut, I’ll be honest, the chances are slim.”
At the same time, Russian Foreign Ministry Speaker Maria Zakharova said that “signals began to come from the United States about their readiness to conduct a pragmatic informal dialogue with us, albeit behind the scenes for now“.
