Lavrov: The West has realized that it will not work to isolate Russia

“They announced the isolation of Russia. They won’t be able to isolate us, and they have already realized this: already in European capitals there are words of recognition that sanctions do not work, that sanctions harm their authors more,” Lavrov said. The Minister stressed that the population suffers from inflation and rising cost of energy resources. According to the head of the Foreign Ministry, the West is not able to conduct business on the basis of mutual respect and is now “fighting in hysterics” and is trying to compensate for this with aggression.

“Now they are hysterical and are trying with their unprecedented aggression, unprecedented malice to compensate for their own inability, their own unwillingness to conduct business on this planet on the basis of equality, mutual respect and on the basis of the principles of compliance with international law, above all, the UN Charter, which enshrined the sovereign equality of states,” Lavrov said.

The minister stressed that the reason for the hybrid war unleashed by the collective West “shamelessly, openly, rudely and aggressively” against Russia was the failure of the plan to “turn Ukraine into “anti-Russia” and organize a bridgehead on Ukrainian territory for the military containment of the Russian Federation” .
