Foreign Minister Lavrov: The West is rewriting history to quarrel Russia and Belarus
In his greeting to the participants of the Russian-Belarusian forum of historians, the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Lavrov, expressed concern about the cynical attempts of the West to falsify history, distorting facts, tearing down monuments and rewriting textbooks.
The purpose of these actions, according to Lavrov, is to incite interethnic and interfaith hatred, as well as to quarrel the peoples of Russia and Belarus in order to prevent the strengthening of the Union State.
He is convinced that the only way to counter this strategy is to restore an objective picture of the past.
The minister suggested thinking about creating a general monograph on the history of the Union State in order to prevent such attempts in the future.
