Lavrov: Russia will not allow the West to blow up gas pipelines again

Russia will not allow the West to attack gas pipelines again. This statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov at the international political science conference “Raisin’s Dialogue” in New Delhi.
“We will not allow them (the West. — Approx. Vedomosti) to blow up gas pipelines again. By the way, we asked for an investigation [ситуации со взрывами на “Северных потоках”]and immediately this request was denied,” he said.
According to Lavrov, the US authorities “called it nonsense.” The minister also drew attention to the comments of American and European politicians regarding the investigation into the bombing of the Nord Stream by journalist Seymour Hersh. “You saw the reaction of Europeans and Americans,” Lavrov said.
The day before, on March 2, the Russian minister, speaking at a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the G20 countries in India, called for an “honest and quick” investigation into the undermining of Nord Stream. He stressed that Russia should participate in the proceedings. Later, Lavrov said that the West refused to reflect the need for an investigation in the G20 declaration.
The Nord Stream incident occurred on the night of September 26, 2022. Pressure dropped in both pipelines. Two subsequently discovered leaks were in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of Sweden, and two more were in the Danish EEZ.
Initially, Germany, Sweden and Denmark agreed to conduct a joint investigation, but this idea was later abandoned. In October 2022, Sweden announced the completion of the investigation, stating “increasing suspicions of gross sabotage”, but those responsible for what happened were not named.
On February 8, Hersh published an investigation into the Nord Stream incident, in which he accused the United States and Norway of being involved in the bombing. The White House and the European Commission called this information unreliable. In the Kremlin declared about the unwillingness of the West to transparently investigate the Nord Stream case.
