Russia will respond harshly to the increasing pressure from the West, but it will not do it to its own detriment, writes TASS with reference to the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov.

“Step by step, increasing illegal pressure on us and other countries, preparing the eighth package of sanctions against us, the West is undermining all the foundations of the world order, which was based on the principles of globalization promoted by the West itself,” Lavrov said, speaking at the Knowledge marathon. Lavrov also added that the West “overnight crossed out” the core values ​​- open markets, freedom of enterprise, fair competition and the presumption of innocence.

“We will respond harshly, but not to our own detriment,” the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stated.
