Lavrov called the attempt to ban the English language in Russia stupid

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that he does not agree with politicians who call for abandoning the use of English in Russia in the context of confrontation with the West.
“They’re setting the whole world against us, so let’s get away from the English language,” Lavrov quoted the opinion of his colleagues in a conversation with a little girl as part of a New Year’s event.
He emphasized that he believes that “this is stupid, because language has nothing to do with it.”
“It’s just like Zelensky banned the Russian language in Ukraine,” Lavrov explained in a conversation with an 11-year-old native of Lugansk.
