Every communication between European diplomatic representatives in Moscow and the Russian authorities will be coordinated with the Russian Foreign Ministry. This statement was made by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with Izvestia after European diplomats refused to meet with him before the Russian presidential elections.
“If they have an interest in communicating with the Russian authorities, we will consider each such request separately and decide whether to agree to such contact or not,” the Russian diplomat said.
Previously, Lavrov stated that he invited European ambassadors in Moscow to a conversation before the presidential elections, but they refused two days before the meeting. In turn, Russian Foreign Ministry Speaker Maria Zakharova noted that there are questions in the work of Western diplomats.
