The Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket with a military satellite was launched from the Plesetsk state test cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk region, reported The Russian Ministry of Defense in the Telegram channel.
“Combat crews of the space forces of the Aerospace Forces carried out the launch of a Soyuz-2.1b medium-class carrier rocket with a spacecraft in the interests of the Russian Ministry of Defense,” the department noted.
By data RIA Novosti, in 2023 this is the third launch from the Plesetsk cosmodrome and the 10th launched by Russia.
On March 23, the Russian Aerospace Forces also held launch of the Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket from the Plesetsk cosmodrome with a spacecraft in the interests of the Ministry of Defense. From November 8, 2004 to May 27, 2023 was completed 61 launches of Soyuz-2.1a rockets, including one suborbital. It is noted that 254 spacecraft were put into orbit. Soyuz-2.1a was developed by the Progress Rocket and Space Center in Samara.
