The Latvian Hockey Federation (LHF) has suspended the licenses of athletes who took part in the “Future Games” in Kazan. This was reported on the official website federation.

The Latvian team Baltic Select participated in the phygital hockey tournament (“phygital” – “physical” and “digital”, physical and digital hockey) at the “Games of the Future”. Some players play for the Latvian national team.

“According to information about the participation of some Latvian hockey players in the Future Games tournament, which is taking place in Russia, the LHF has suspended the licenses of these hockey players,” the federation’s website says.

“Games of the Future” are international competitions in hybrid disciplines. They combine classic sports and e-sports, or VR/AR technology. The competition takes place in Kazan. They will end on March 3.
