Singer Laima Vaikule commented on reports from a number of media outlets, according to which the Federal Tax Service is allegedly checking a company operating in Moscow and associated with the artist. It was alleged that an audit was being conducted into possible tax evasion.

“I have nothing in Russia, I’m nobody,” quotes Vaikule “Starhit”. “All the business I had was in my name.”

She also denied publications that spoke about the Russian authorities’ alleged plans to take away the business of a singer who left the country and criticized the SVO. Vaikule noted that “you cannot take away what is not there.” She explained that she previously had a share in one commercial organization, but “immediately gave everything away.”

“I, as a businesswoman, do not exist either on paper or in reality,” added the artist. “Therefore, they are trying in vain.”
