Kyrgyzstani recognized as the best female wrestler in the world

Member of the national team of Kyrgyzstan Aisuluu Tynybekova was recognized as the best in the world among women wrestlers in 2023 according to the United World of Wrestling (UWW).
The athlete from Kyrgyzstan triumphantly returned to the top of the world rankings, scoring 95,575 points. She won the World Championships, the Asian Championships, as well as ranking tournaments in Hungary and Egypt. At the end of the year, Tynybekova won a bronze medal at the Asian Games in China.
“As crazy as it sounds, Tynybekova, at 30, turned back the clock in 2023 and had the best 12-month stretch of her career. The resurgent Kyrgyz star showed how motivated she is to return to top form during the two biggest competitions of the season – the World and Asian Championships,” writes UWW.
At the Asian Championships, Tynybekova won gold for the fifth time, defeating her main rivals, Nonoka Ozaki from Japan and Orkhon Purevdorj from Mongolia. At the World Championships in Serbia, she won 5 victories in a row, including over Olympic bronze medalist Irina Kolyadenko (Ukraine) and World Championship bronze medalist from Japan Sakura Motoki.
